The Navajo Nation has been hit especially hard with the COVID-19 crisis. By early August there were 9,195 positive cases with 467 deaths.
Due to the difficulties faced in their rural communities to receive supplies, a local community outreach program was created by DreamLab. The collaborative group has grown to include many organizations that continue to help the Navajo Nation during the COVID-19 crisis by collecting donations and distributing non-perishable items, dog food and water.
In June, the GAAR Board of Directors approved a $1,000 donation to assist the Navajo Nation during this devastating time.
