As the largest trade association in the U.S., the National Association of REALTORS® advocates every day on behalf of the nation's 1.5 million REALTORS® and 75 million property owners. NAR is widely considered one of the most effective advocacy organizations in the country.
As your local REALTOR® Association, the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® works with the Commercial Association of REALTORS® and the New Mexico Association of REALTORS® to help ensure the needs of Central New Mexico’s REALTORS® and homeowners remain front and center in the minds of our local elected officials.
This advocacy is funded by your investment to the REALTOR® Party, REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC).
The REALTOR® Party is a powerful alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations working to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests and promote a vibrant business environment.
On all levels, national, state, and local, the RPAC is a non-partisan political action committee that supports candidates of all parties based on their ability to win and their position on our advocacy issues.
NMAR has created a Resource Guide that outlines its various advocacy functions and available support. It addresses RPAC and local association use, Issue Advocacy Fund, Legal Action Fund, Legislative Committee, FPC/SPC programs, and local calls for action.
While NAR advocates on federal policy, Greater Albuquerque REALTORS® has two powerful local advocates in their corner – The REALTORS® Political Action Committee of New Mexico (RPAC-NM) and the Real Estate Community Political Action Committee (RECPAC).
Trustees for RPAC-NM’s Central District and Trustees for RECPAC work hand-in-hand to select candidates supported and the issues for which we fight at the state level.
With input from our members, RECPAC Trustees determine the candidates the Association support for City and County positions and advocate on local issues that affect our industry and clients. They also help introduce members to their elected officials through round-tables, receptions, and meet-and-greets.
Community Programs and Education
In addition to advocating in the political realm, RPAC and RECPAC work together to provide education to our REALTORS® on important community issues like Smart Growth and Fair Housing.
