The COVID-19 crisis has created additional hardships in the lives of homeless students in our community. Many who seek comfort in shelters or hotels at night are faced with fewer options, and a lack of basic sanitation supplies increases their exposure.

In lieu of the fall Backpack Drive, the GAAR Community Relations Committee requested monetary donations from our REALTORS® and Affiliates to support the APS Title 1 Program for the purchase of hand sanitizer, masks, disinfectants, and other supplies needed to help keep these children safe.

Once again, the generosity of our members was evident with the collection of $1,145. Thank you!

Albuquerque Public Schools Title I Homeless Project provides homeless students with both basic services as well as the education that is necessary to stay in school and to break the cycle of poverty within their family.
